Sir Thomas Macpherson, Chairman Chairman, Boustead PLC
Sir Thomas Macpherson is currently chairman of Annington Holdings plc, Boustead plc, and other companies. Prior to this position, he has been chief executive of Mallinson-Denny plc, and later chairman or director of numerous well-known companies including Scottish Mutual, TSB Scotland, Birmid Qualcast plc, Keller Group plc, Allstate Insurance (Europe), the Société Générale Merchant Bank, Caledonian Paper plc, and the National Coal Board. In public life, he is active in the Confederation of British Industry and has been president of the London Chamber of Commerce and the British Chambers of Commerce, from which he became the first British president of the European Chambers of Commerce.
Commissioned in the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders (TA) in 1939, he served throughout the war in North Africa and the Mediterranean theatre (with the Scottish Commando) and in France and Italy with Special Operations Executive. He had two years as a prisoner from November 1941 to November 1943, escaping from Germany via Sweden to resume active service.
Sir Thomas was educated at Edinburgh Academy, Cargilfield, Fettes College and Trinity College Oxford, where he graduated with a first class honours degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics.
Michael Jannery President and CEO, Entuity
Michael Jannery is responsible for setting the overall corporate strategy, vision, and direction for the company. Michael brings 25 years of executive management experience to Entuity, and has worked with public and private companies ranging from startups to restarts to turnarounds.
Prior to Entuity, he was Vice President of Marketing for Proficiency, where he established the company as the thought, technology, and market leader in a new product lifecycle management (PLM) sub-market. Earlier, Michael held VP of Marketing positions at Gradient Technologies, where he established them as a market leader in the Internet security sector, and Cayenne Software, a leader in the software and database modeling market. He began his career in engineering.
Michael hold a bachelors degree (with distinction) in computer science from Dartmouth College, where he was also the recipient of the John G. Kemeny Award in Computer Science.
Pieter Hooft Managing Director, UK Investments, LMS Capital
Pieter is responsible for LMS Capital's investment activities. He has over 15 years investment experience in the UK and Europe with individual equity investments ranging from £3 – 50 million in both established and emerging companies. His sector experience comprises media, consumer, industrial, business services and technology/ internet. Pieter joined LMS Capital in November 2006. He previously worked at Apax Partners and JPMorgan Partners and has additional experience as chairman of Germany’s second largest chain of fitness clubs.
Pieter is a Dutch national, and is fluent in French and German. He was educated in the Netherlands and HEC Paris.
Shawn Luetchens Managing Director, Saffron Hill Ventures
Shawn Luetchens is a Managing Director at Saffron Hill Ventures. Prior to founding Saffron Hill, Shawn worked as an investment principal for Tribune Ventures where he invested in seed stage through pre-IPO round financings for digital media, infrastructure, and commerce companies. Shawn served on the Board of four Tribune portfolio companies and established Tribune's first seed stage financing. From 1991-1994 Shawn worked for a private consulting firm based in Washington, DC where he managed technology development research projects focused on the development and financing of emerging technologies. Earlier in his career, Shawn worked as a Senior Project Manager for the US EPA managing multi-million dollar technology research, design, and construction projects.
Shawn earned an MBA from Northwestern University's J L Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a BS in Physical Sciences from the University of Nebraska.
