KANREN READIES NETWORK BACKBONE SERVICES WITH ENTUITY’S EYE OF THE STORM

Network Management Suite Lays Foundation for Innovative Services Critical to Kansas Educators, Students, and Researchers

NEW YORK, NY and LONDON, UK – April 17, 2007 - Entuity™, Inc., today announced that KanREN, Inc., a membership consortium of colleges, universities, school districts, and other non-profit organizations in the state of Kansas, has selected Entuity’s Eye of the Storm® (EYE) as its network management suite. EYE will serve as a foundation to ensure a robust and reliable platform for support of educational networking, research collaboration, and delivery of instructional content and services for the consortium.

Charged with the building, operation, and maintenance of a statewide research and educational network spanning 73 Wide Area Network sites throughout Kansas, KanREN manages a complex network environment with a unique set of needs. EYE provides KanREN with the flexibility and modular architecture required to efficiently and proactively meet current and future service-delivery challenges related to network management, monitoring, measurement, and reporting.

“EYE’s network reporting and planning tools help us meet our customers’ service-level expectations and ensure we continue to meet their changing needs,” said David Yarnevich, network engineer at KanREN. “Through its comprehensive data collection, correlation and analysis, alerting, and reporting, EYE gives KanREN the intelligence we need to both efficiently and proactively identify situations before they become problems as well as resolve those that arrive unexpectedly.”

KanREN selected EYE because it provides a powerful, easy-to-manage, and cost-effective solution to their unique management challenges. Providing connectivity to the state since 1994, KanREN has established a thorough set of requirements that a management solution must meet before being rolled out on its network. Management systems must provide valid metrics that accurately measure benefits versus costs of the solution prior to and after implementation. In addition, management solutions should be armed with the intelligence to effectively manage the next-generation research technologies being deployed on KanREN’s network to create on-demand, dynamically-reconfigurable, dedicated research network resources that extend across the state, country, and globe.

“In many ways, the demands placed on networks serving the educational community exceed that of even large corporations,” said Michael Jannery, president and CEO of Entuity. “EYE will help KanREN provide the innovative and cost-effective network services needed to help fuel academic research and a new generation of solutions for today’s most complex problems. We’re committed to help KanREN create a reliably connected infrastructure for this dynamic educational and research environment.”
